HighPoint Cares Foundation Inc. is pleased to announce that the 2021 HighPoint Cares Foundation scholarships have been awarded to Camila Carrillo Garbiras and Chase LaPlante. Both will receive a $5,000 scholarship to help with their undergraduate studies next year.

|Camila Carrillo Garbiras is a rising junior studying law and public policy and double minoring in homeland security and anthropology at Indiana University Bloomington. Camila is a co-founder of an organization called “Be The Change Indy” that amplifies racial and social equality and is a policy debater for the Indiana University Debate Team. She currently has an internship at the Children’s Policy and Law Initiative of Indiana and works with The Tab IU, a news source for Indiana University students.
Camila’s mom is Isabel Garbiras, Senior Content Specialist – Spanish in Indianapolis.
| Chase LaPlante is studying anthropology at Indiana University Bloomington. Chase will spend his junior year at IU studying abroad in Athens, Greece. He is currently working as a camp counselor at the YMCA Camp Tecumseh. He also is the social co-chair in IU’s Another Round A Cappella group.
Chase’s mom is Beth LaPlante, Manager, Editing in Indianapolis.
Scholarship America, an independent company that manages corporate and foundation scholarship programs, carefully processed and reviewed the applications and selected the scholarship recipients.
