We’re pleased to announce the 2023 HighPoint scholarships have been awarded to Milena Terrel and Mairin Wasson. Each will receive a $5,000 scholarship to help with their undergraduate studies.
Scholarship America, an independent company that manages corporate and foundation scholarship programs, carefully processed and reviewed the applications and selected the scholarship recipients.

Meet our 2023 Scholarship Recipients
Milena Terrel will be attending Frederick Community College in Maryland where she will major in Business Administration.
During her time in high school, she was Vice President of the National Honors Society, class representative for the student government, and a sound technician for the worship team. Upon graduation, she received the Award of Excellence, the highest honor bestowed by her high school for character, academic achievement, and dedication.
Milena enjoys traveling, spending time with friends, and anything Star Wars related. Recently, she has been working in the kitchen and managing social media for her mom’s small baking business and volunteering at a Vacation Bible School.
Milena’s dad is Adrian Terrel, Senior Director Client Engagement, located in Maryland.

Mairin Wasson was a first year student at DePaul University and is heading to Indiana University, located in Bloomington, Indiana where she will begin in the Fall and studying sociology and non-profit management.
While Mairin attended DePaul University, her GPA was 3.97. She also received several awards: first year writing showcase award winner and honors student conference selected presenter. She competed as part of DePaul Ignite dance company. In Summer of 2023, she was a volunteer camp counselor for Dayspring Center camp for homeless children.
Mairin will be studying sociology and non-profit management at Indiana University – Bloomington beginning Fall 2023.
Mairin also enjoys painting, decorating, poetry and creative writing in which she excels.
Mairin’s mom is Stacy Barbee Ricks, Manager of Training, located in Indiana.
