HighPoint Global Makes Generous Donation to Autism Society of Indiana for Respite Care Program Pilot
June 11, 2014 – On June 6, HighPoint Global’s founder and Chief Executive Officer Ben Lanius presented Indianapolis-based charity Autism Society of Indiana with a donation check of one hundred and twenty-eight thousand, two hundred dollars ($128,200). The generous donation was a result of Ben’s personal commitment to making a difference in the lives of families dealing with autism. The funds are being dedicated to support a pilot program to provide in-home respite care for five Indiana families with children suffering from autism. Since 1998, the Autism Society of Indiana has expanded from a support group to a statewide organization that works with thousands of people annually. ASI is able to provide support to families affected by autism, navigate the maze of services, and education to families at no cost to them. ASI employs 17 people around Indiana, including two individuals on the autism spectrum. ASI supports people affected by autism today by focusing on their unique needs.
“We are thrilled to be able to make this donation in such a meaningful way,” stated Ben as he presented the check to ASI’s Chief Executive Ally Dana Renay. “My life is touched by autism and I am so proud to be able to support other families and so blessed that I have the opportunity to give back to the community. Many families don’t have the resources to afford the care they need and we are proud to support them.”
“We are honored to partner with HighPoint Global to support families who are in need of a break, by providing a consistent and caring person to stay with their child, so they can do what they need to do. This new program will enrich so many lives in our state, “said Dana from ASI.
HighPoint Global is committed to giving back to the community and has a company culture that supports volunteerism, charitable work and much more. The company has an employee-driven Service & Charity Committee that supports many charitable employee activities across the country including autism support as our premiere focus.
HighPoint and the Autism Society’s goals for the pilot are to achieve successes so that we might partner again in the future to support families where HighPoint’s other offices are located in Reston, VA and Baltimore, MD by working with our partners and suppliers to increase funding available.
